dell laptop for sale [Sep. 30th, 2006|12:16 pm]
Lakehead University

Hey all! I got a new computer and don't need my laptop anymore, so I'm selling it. Here are the specs:

Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop... used 2 years, in very good condition. Motherboard replaced by Dell in 2005.

Pentium4 2.8GHz processor
256MB RAM, up to 1G can be added (i think it has 2 slots?)
80Gb harddrive
CDRW/DVD drive
Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller
Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 mini-pci card
14.1" LCD screen
Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional installed

I have a laptop case that I would be willing to include if you offer me enough (the bag was about $100 alone so I'm not willing to let it go too cheap).

I'm asking $600 or best offer, if you look at Futureshop, new computers with similar specs are going for around 799-899, so I think it's a pretty fair price. But make me an offer if you like!

"Holdin' Onto Summer" Party! [Sep. 22nd, 2006|07:10 pm]
Lakehead University

[mood |coldcold]

Hey Students,

Getting sick of this cold weather already? Wishing it was still summer?

Well don't you worry! You have one more chance to wear those favourite shorts of yours, those worn out sandals and the stylish sunglasses! That's right, the Education Student Teachers' Association is putting on a giant "HOLDIN' ONTO SUMMER PARTY!" and you're all invited!

It's going to be a ton of fun and where else can you dress as if it's 30 degrees, dance up a storm and win prizes? Nowhere! Except for the Outpost on Friday September 29th at 9pm! Tickets are $3 in advance or $5 at the door and they can be purchased outside the Outpost between noon and 4pm Monday Sept. 25- Friday Sept.29.

You must be 19 years of age or older to attend and make sure to bring all your friends!

This is one party that you for SURE don't want to miss! Unless you enjoy being cold? I know I don't!

See you there!

Gilbertitus [Sep. 13th, 2006|09:24 am]

The only thing I agree with is that there needed to be another entrance into Lakehead parking lots other than through Balmoral. Funny because there once used to be an entrance through the agora side that they blocked off because of construction around the ATAC building, then they left it closed off after building that monstrosity of a carbon-copy building that apparently will sink into our swampy land by about a metre in the next 7 years.

Now, they're building a road around the campus (did anyone happen to see the effin river they hit right by the main entrance on Beverly?) and included with that road is a $2 million overpass where the cars go over and the pedestrians go under. What, are you fucking nuts? Rapes are occurring on campus and you want to put in an overpass where people can hang out and barely be seen? You want to spend that much money so the cars can go over?? Why didn't you spend $50,000 at most and build a pedestrian bridge? How much easier would that have been!?

Who the hell elected Gilbert? Why is it that our entire council we have I think 2 students, the rest being faculty and the president (that I sure as hell didn't elect) who all get together and make unplanned decisions.

When the Land Swap meeting at City Council occurred, I was there. You'd think they would have wanted to try to get student opinions after that blatant opposition to the University.

Universities used to be run by the students. What happened?

Lakehead University

I'm selling a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier. It has 150,000 km and is in great shape. Teal in colour. Already safetied. All four tires were just replaced in the winter. Great on gas, and very little body rust. Asking $3,500. It will be available for viewing and test drives by the end of next week (probably around the 3rd). If you or anyone you know is interested, let me know! My phone number is 935-3111, or 935-2027. I can also be reached by email at kkempton@lakeheadu.ca. I would like to have it sold before I move out to Vancouver in three weeks, so please serious offers only.
