I'm a B.ED student at LU and for one of my classes, I'm putting together a children's history book focusing on the Ojibway. I'm having trouble finding information about Mount. McKay. I know it's important to the Ojibway people and that it's the site of pow wows, but what significance did it hold in the past? Can any one help me out?

Please either comment here or email me: emallia_janor@hotmail.com if you have anything that might help.
Thanks a lot!

To any and all education students:
Have you gotten your placements yet? If not when should we expect them by.

Who should we harass if we should have gotten our placement, but haven't yet?

Moving to TB [Apr. 4th, 2007|10:48 am]
Lakehead University

morningapproach
Hello all.

I just got word today that I was accepted to Lakehead for my bachelor's of ed. I am now trying to do some reasearch on moving up there and where I will live and what I will need, and how expensive coming back down here to Windsor (and vice-versa) it will be for my boyfriend & I.

So - where do I look for housing near the university? Is there a housing directory online somewhere that I can look at (just to get prices for now)? Do a lot of places near the U rent for 8 months? How is the Residence at Lakehead? Would it be worth it to look into the townhouse or apartment residences (I don't want a meal plan, as I would rather make all my own food) for 650 a month? Looking on the university off-campus housing directory, there doesn't seem to be much offered in ways of students moving in from out of town who don't have a group. Are there places that offer 8 months leases?

What are the living expenses like? More expensive than other parts of the country for food? less? gas?

Also, what would I need for winter weather up there in terms of clothing and such? In Windsor our winters are relatively mild, and I usually just wear a hoodie over a tee under my winter coat.

Also, does Lakehead offer some sort of Work Study program for students where they can work on campus? I plan on getting OSAP, and most of my school/living will be paid for that way, but I know that I will need another job for extra money, like travel and car expenses.

Thanks for any help!

I have a Motorola V186M (Much Music Edition) cell phone that I want to get rid of. I got a new phone like a year ago when I went onto a monthly plan and this one has just been sitting here, taking up space.
I only used it for a couple months, so it's in awesome condition. Here is the info..

  • Motorola V186M Much Music Edition
  • Activated, ready to use with Rogers monthly or Pay as you Go plans (Tbaytel may let you use it too? Not sure)
  • 2 extra faceplates included- Much Music "wood grain" and a see-through airbrushed flower one with matching battery cover (no tools needed to change faceplates!)
  • Charger, original box and all the original contents included
  • A bunch of extra ring tones were bought and are on the phone, including "Bittersweet Symphony" and "I am the Walrus" (as a bonus?)
  • I'm asking $75 OBO, I pretty much just want to get rid of it. Please take it off my hands!
  • Call 622-8995, ask for Leah OR MSN or email my.restless.soul@gmail.com OR reply to this post for more info

Hey kids, it's that time again and the semester has started.

I am offering my services as a tutor (for free!!) since I'm looking for something to do this semester.

I have a BA in history, so I can definitely tutor that and I have 2 years as a music major so I can help out with Rudements of Theory and music history.

So, drop a comment here or email me (emallia_janor@hotmail.com) if you're interested.

Looking to trade! [Nov. 27th, 2006|02:48 am]

Hey all,

I'm looking to trade a 4 gig IPOD nano with a two year extended warrenty from futureshop (good if the batteries go on it which they are prone to do every year or so). Normal wear and tare but nothing to extreme for a PDA. It must have some form of MP3 playability on it as well as color screen and decently powered. If interested leave me a message with the make of your PDA so I can look it up as well as some means of getting a hold of you. The comments will be screened so don't worry about infomration getting out.

Thanks
